The preparation of brood nests is not a simple task , but involves a series of acts like the careful survey of sites , selection of site , clearing the ground , excavating , disposal of the resulting debris , transport of suitable material to the nest site , often from great distances , building the brood cells to the correct size and shape , panelling the interior of the cells , tapestry , camouflaging the nest , etc .
